Oddysseyware Launching Monday, April 20, 2020
Beginning Monday, April 20th, Hazelwood School District will be launching e-learning with Odysseyware for all third, fourth, and fifth grade students. While your child’s teacher will support your child through this process, here is a step by step guide to navigating the Odysseyware website to this email for your convenience. Your child’s username is their 6-digit student ID and their password is HSDmmddyy (of their birthday).
While the teacher will plan & assign learning activities in reading, math, science and social studies, your child should work on 2-3 content areas a day as scheduled by the teacher. Odysseyware includes videos to assist students and will also read the lessons and follow-up questions for additional support. Each academic lesson is chunked into manageable sections, which allow your child to work at his/her pace. The program also allows students to type questions for the teacher directly on the website alerting the teacher to the child’s comments. For our EL learners, lessons and directions can be translated to the preferred language of choice. For our students receiving additional support for various reasons, you may also reach out to those teachers for academic support.
Chromebook Repair Info
The Hazelwood School District facilities will remain closed through May 29, 2020. During this
time, technology will have limited staff at the Opportunity Center (1865 Dunn Road, St. Louis,
MO 63138) to service families. Families will be able to swap Chromebooks at the Opportunity
Center. We are only swapping out broken or inoperable devices.
Minor issues can be reported to the Help Desk by calling 314-953-5099 or emailing
helpdesk@hazelwoodschools.org.
Here are the procedures that will need to be followed at the Opportunity Center:
● The Chromebook swap will be held on the back of the east parking lot near the fields
● Families will drive up to the designated station, present their student ID, Chromebook,
and power adapter
● The technician will inventory the gear, document the barcode & service tag, and hand
them a new Chromebook
● No one is to exit their vehicle during this time
● Please come at your assigned date and time according to the schedule listed below.
